Egypt printing, packaging & paper exports up 8% in 2022

The Egyptian Export Council for Printing, Packaging, Paper, Literary and Artistic Works announced on Sunday 29/1/2023 that the sector’s exports in 2022 rose by eight percent to 1.063 billion dollars, compared with 987.8 million dollars the year before.

In its monthly report, the council said that the exports of packaging in 2022 rose by four percent to reach 624.75 million dollars up from 601.63 million dollars in 2021.

Exports of corrugated cardboard recorded 46.81 million dollars last year compared with 43.15 million dollars in 2021, an increase of eight percent.

Non-corrugated cardboard exports jumped by 126 percent to 30.15 million dollars in 2022 up from 13.35 million dollars in 2021.

Exports of paper bags remained unchanged at 3.53 million dollars in 2022, just as in 2021.

Exports of the flexible packaging sector amounted to 348 million dollars in 2022 down three percent from 358.68 million dollars in 2021.

Meanwhile, exports of plastic packaging were up by four percent to 132.60 million dollars in 2022 against 127.1 million dollars the year before.

Also, paper exports went up by 16 percent to register 409.36 million dollars last year against 352.34 million dollars in 2021.
