Egypt says cooperation with India’s Serum Institute important

Higher Education Minister and acting Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar underlined on Sunday the importance of putting into effect the agreement signed between and the Egyptian holding company for biological products and vaccines (Vacsera) and Serum Institute of India.

Abdel Ghaffar underlined the importance of abiding by the timetable set in the agreement to serve the State’s strategy and turn Egypt into a regional center for vaccine manufacturing and achieving self-sufficiency in this regard.

Abdel Ghaffar gave the remarks during a meeting with the executive director of the international marketing department at the Indian institute and the institute’s regional director.

Spokesman for the Health Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar underlined the importance of cooperation between Vacsera and the Indian institute to cope up with the latest in vaccine industry.

Egypt’s Vacsera and India’s Serum signed an agreement in July 2019 to manufacture eight vaccines.
