The Agricultural Export Council announced that crop exports increased by 11.4 percent from September 2021 to June 2022 to reach USD 2.470 billion compared with USD 2.217 billion in the same period in 2020-2021.
The volume of agricultural exports declined 0.4 percent to hit 3.957 million tons from September 2021 to June 2022, against 3.974 million tons in the corresponding period of the previous export season, the council said in its monthly report on Sunday.
Agricultural exports to Arab countries accounted for 36 percent of the total exports to record USD 879 million between September and June 2021-2022, the report added.
Non-EU countries imported crops at a total of USD 655 million, the report stated.
Agricultural exports to EU countries amounted to USD 566 million, the report noted.
Exports to Asia and Africa reached USD 299 million and USD 33 million respectively, the report said.
The Americas and Australia imported Egyptian crops worth USD 38 million, the report concluded.
