Undersecretary of Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Secretary-General of the Higher Committee for Moderation Enhancement Farid Emadi strongly condemned the terrorist shooting that targeted innocent worshipers in two mosques in New Zealand, which resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries.
"We strongly condemn any attack on innocent people, whatever the motives, and we condemn the tampering with the security of communities and terrorizing people under any pretext," Emadi said in a press statement.
He called for concerted efforts to fight terrorism in all its forms, describing the attack on mosques as a cowardly act of terrorism that is incompatible with all religions, laws and human values, stressing the urgent need to develop a comprehensive plan to combat terrorism and extremism.
Emadi also expressed deep condolences to the families of the innocent victims who died while praying peacefully, wishing speedy recovery to those injured.
