In a collaborative effort, Export Bahrain has concluded a highly informative workshop entitled ” Procedures to Export Food, Drugs, & Pharmaceutical Items to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” presented by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) in a joint coordination with Export Bahrain and the Ministry of Health in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which aimed to provide exporters with an introduction to the requirements and procedures that must be taken before exporting food, drugs, and pharmaceutical products to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The educational workshop mainly targeted the private sector to develop and increase their contribution to the economic development of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The workshop, which was attended by 100 participants, brought together a diverse range of experts, industry leaders, and stakeholders from both Bahrain and Saudi Arabia to engage in insightful discussions on the intricate and various procedures and regulations pertaining to the export of products within the concerned industries. The comprehensive presentations and interactive sessions provided attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the necessary documentation, the role of the Ministry of Health in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the measures required to ensure compliance with the regulations set by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority. Moreover, the relevant specialists in the Ministry of Health and the Saudi Food and Drug Authority addressed the inquiries of the attendees through Q&A sessions and meetings that were arranged during the workshop.

The successful conclusion of this workshop demonstrates the strong commitment and continued efforts of Export Bahrain and the Saudi Food and Drug Authority to fostering trade and commerce between the two nations and supporting the growth and success of businesses looking to expand into the Saudi market through facilitating the export procedures and requirements. This workshop is a testament to the continued efforts of both organizations to provide valuable resources and opportunities for businesses, specifically in the pharmaceutical and food sectors, seeking to expand into the Saudi market.

Export Bahrain’s Executive Director – Operations, Ms. Fatima Aziz Rostam, emphasized the importance of promoting trade and commerce between the two kingdoms, stating: “It is imperative that we strengthen the economic ties between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia further in order to foster a thriving trade relationship that serves the interests of both nations. The Saudi market presents numerous opportunities for businesses based in Bahrain, and the joint efforts of Export Bahrain and the Saudi Food and Drug Authority will serve as a catalyst for continued growth and prosperity.”

Ms. Fatima Aziz Rostam further added: “The informative workshop underscored the necessity for increased collaboration in order to maximize economic growth. We anticipate significant outcomes as a result of this workshop.”
