Bollywood stars, who are happily married (not to each other), to talk up ‘Shaadi Ke Side Effects’
Bollywood actress Vidya Balan is known for her unconventional methods of promoting her films. Remember, how she carted around a fake pregnant belly to talk up her thriller Kahaani in Dubai?
This weekend, she promises to be back in the city. But guess what’s going to be her accessory?
“Farhan Akhtar, that’s who. He will be my arm candy. We will also get him to belt out a few songs from Shaadi Ke Side Effects. He’s going to be my walking, talking whatever …” Balan said, breaking into a laugh. The pair, who play a married couple grappling with the arrival of a baby in their lives in Shaadi Ke Side Effects, is expected to be in town this Saturday.
“For Shaadi Ke Side Effects, we are a little more relaxed. It’s not a cookie cutter approach here. For The Dirty Picture, Ghanchakkar or Kahaani, the promotions were hectic … Now, people are fed up of seeing the same stars in every platform. We need to think out-of-the-box,” Balan said.
It’s the first time that Balan and Akhtar have been featured in a romantic comedy. Ask them whether they drew a few strands from their separate marital lives, they go: “We love being married.”
While Balan is married to top producer Siddharth Roy Kapur, Akhtar found his life partner in Adhuna Akhtar, who is Bollywood’s go-to hair stylist.
“Shaadi Ke Side Effects is a clean film and a perfect family entertainer,” Akhtar said.
The film releases in the UAE on February 27. Read their interviews in tabloid! soon.
