Damascus, SANA-The feature film “al-Hakim” (the doctor), directed by Bassel Al-Khatib and produced by the National Film Organization, is participating in the 41st Fajr International Film Festival, which kicked off Wednesday in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

The events of the film, written by Diana Jabbour, in her first cinematic experience in the form of a feature film, take place in a remote rural town.

It tells the story of a doctor who devotes his life to serving the people of the town through his professional and life experiences.

The film focuses on the state of social deterioration left by the war and its repercussions on people’s behavior, destinies and morals; that was when the doctor faced a personal challenge during a visit paid by his granddaughter, to put the audience in front of the question “Would he face his crisis alone; after all the service he offered to the people of the town, or not?.

The film that stars Duraid Lahham and Sabah al-Jazaery, is the second cinematic collaboration between the Lahham and al-Khatib, after they met with the movie Damascus – Aleppo.
