Finance Minister Mohamed Ma’eit has met with CEO of the African Trade Insurance Agency (ATI) Manuel Moses on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), which ended in the Egyptian Red Sea resort city of Sharm el Sheikh late Saturday.

During the meeting, the two sides asserted the importance of strengthening joint African action in the current phase in a way that would ensure good management of resources, enhance governance and maximize benefits from natural and human resources in the continent.

The pair discussed how to provide insurance coverage for Egyptian exports to Africa and speedily finalize procedures for Egypt’s membership in the ATI, in addition to boosting coordination among African countries as part of ongoing preparations for the UN Climate Change Conference (COP27) to be held in Sharm El Sheikh city in November, the statement added.

The finance minister called for finding appropriate financing alternatives to face the impacts of climate change, bring about sustainable growth and promote green transformation.
