Finance Minister Mohamed Ma’eit met Sunday with his Kuwaiti counterpart Abdel Wahab Mohamed Rashid to discuss the global economic crisis and plans to recover from its unprecedented negative impact.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the annual sessions of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), which concluded in the Egyptian Red Sea resort city of Sharm el Sheikh Saturday night.

The two ministers agreed to boost coordination and exchange expertise, particularly in the economic field.

Talks also took up efforts to encourage the flow of Kuwaiti investments to Egypt, given the structural and economic reforms adopted, and huge projects implemented to upgrade the infrastructure in the Arab country.

Ma’eit said his Ministry would act to promote production activities with the aim to boost economic growth and create job opportunities.

He made it clear that the Egyptian government gives priority to agricultural and industrial production, which is needed to sustain supplies to citizens.

Ma’eit also posted Rashid on efforts to encourage the export sector with the aim to reach some 100 billion dollars.
