Fines and fees related to notary in Dubai approved

Dubai: Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, has issued a resolution No. 4 for the year 2014 on the adoption of fines and fees related to the author of Justice in the Emirate of Dubai.

The resolution set the value of charges for notary’s service and fees for licence for those, who are involved in notary job.

The resolution stipulated that, in case of a second offence by the same office or private notary within one year from the date of the previous offence, the value of fine will be redoubled with no more than Dh50,000.

Pursuant to the resolution, the Committee of the Notary Public’s Affairs may enforce any additional procedures or actions on the violating party, in addition to the prescribed fines. These procedures include warnings or temporarily suspending the permit for a period not exceeding two years. The committee may also cancel or terminate the permit. The resolution is active from the date of publication in the Official Gazette.
