Foreign Ministry: Syria strongly condemns statement by French Foreign Ministry spokesman on Presidential elections, Syrians alone have final word in it

Damascus, SANA-Syria strongly condemned the statement by French Foreign Ministry spokesman on Presidential elections and stresses that these elections is a sovereign Syrian affair par excellence and no foreign party has the right to interfere in it and only the Syrians have the final word in it.

An Official source at the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry told SANA in a statement on Saturday that the Syrian Arab Republic considers the statement issued by French Foreign Ministry spokesman on the presidential elections in Syria as “useless” as these elections are a Syrian sovereign affair par excellence and no foreign party has the right to interfere in it and it is completely not its concern to express its opinions, asserting that “only the Syrians have the final word in it.”

The source cited the huge turnout by the Syrians abroad at the ballot boxes throughout the world, including Paris, which constitutes the most eloquent respond to these statements.

The source added that the French Government should be well aware that these policy bear full responsibility, along with the countries hostile to Syria, towards the bloodshed of the Syria, destruction of their achievements and arrival of food and medicine to them through supporting the transnational terrorism in Syria and the illegitimate unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people.

The source said that Syrian Arab Republic strongly condemns these statements and stresses that wrong approaches of the French government in Syria will not succeed in impeding the stabilization process in it.

the Source added that France should know that the mandate era has gone forever and legitimacy in Syria today is granted by the Syrians alone and not by the non- High Commissioner who is staying in Paris.
