Lebanese Forces Chief Samir Geagea deemed Sunday that the Lebanese army will eradicate the presence of Daesh from Ras Baalbek Mountains and the Qaa region.
"It is the Lebanese army that will take the lead to eradicate Daesh from Ras Baalbek outskirts and Qaa region," Geagea said in an interview to Al-Hayat Newspaper.
Geagea blasted Hezbollah's recent fight against Nusra Front in the outskirts of Arsal, saying that "the battles carried out by Hezbollah in the outskirts of Arsal are not a victory but a series of battles that [Hezbollah] has been fighting for the interest of keeping Bashar Assad in power."
"What holds up the establishment of an effective state is the presence of Hezbollah and its monopoly over strategic decisions," he noted.
Geagea urged Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah to hand-over his arms to the Lebanese Army.
"If Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah wanted to gift the Lebanese something that is of value, let him offer his weapons to the Lebanese Army and limit his actions to politics," he went on.
Commenting on Hezbollah's golden equation of the army, people and resistance, Geagea stressed that the only golden equation is the "people, state and army."
Over the refugees' issue, Geagea voiced support to the right of Syrian refugees to return their homeland.
