The Lebanese Forces Party leader, Samir Geagea, received on Wednesday a delegation from the Department of Banks in the party's unions, with talks touching on the economic situation in the country.
Geagea tackled the new electoral law, which he described as "the best formula possible," explaining the importance of proportionality "which is a major achievement at the general level."
On the subject of Syrian displacement, Geagea said "We, as Lebanese, have welcomed the displaced with great joy and humane spirit. This is what should have been done at first, (...) but after seven years of burdens on infrastructure and security risks, it has become necessary to find a radical solution to this dilemma."
Geagea announced that "the Lebanese Forces is preparing a proposal to submit to the Cabinet, which in turn will send it to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, to say it is time to put in place a mechanism for the return of displaced people to safe areas free of military battles."
