The Lebanese General Security apprehended on Tuesday a Lebanese man over planning a suicide attack and affiliation to a terrorist organization.
The arrestee confessed having met terrorist Osama Mansour whilst taking "religious lessons" at Abdullah Bin Masoud Mosque. He later joined Mansour's terrorist group, underwent military training, and was later tasked to monitor the activity of the Lebanese Army.
After Bab Al-Tabbaneh clashes in North Lebanon, the arrestee became active on social media networks where he was introduced to terrorists located in Raqqa and Idlib of Syria. He later sought going to Syria and joining armed terrorist groups.
The arrestee was later talked into performing a terrorist act inside Lebanese territories "for greater divine approval than implementing it within the Islamic State territories," as per his confession.
He later contacted a Lebanese fighting within Daesh ranks in Iraq who taught him how to prepare an explosive belt.
In the wake of investigations, the arrestee was referred to the concerned judicial apparatuses.
