Russia’s Chief of General Staff, Valery Gerasimov stressed that the illegitimate presence of foreign forces in Syria reduces the effectiveness of fighting the terrorist organizations tin it.
RT website quoted Gerasimov as saying in a statement to military attachés of foreign countries on Thursday, that the illegitimate military presence of the US and a number of other countries in Syria helps the terrorist organizations deployed in it to expand their influence.
Gerasimov pointed out that his country continues to combating terrorism and provides assistance to the return of refugees and restoring the infrastructure to preserve Syria’s territorial integrity.
Regarding the de-escalation zone in Idleb, Gerasimov noted that work is underway with the Turkish side to implement the standing agreements and stop hostilities.
