Gov’t gives prior attention to improving health, education sectors

The government attaches special importance to improving health, education and cultural sectors, affirmed Finance Minister Mohammed Maait.

The upcoming period will witness adopting a series of measures to enhance public services through promoting cooperation with the various development partners, he added during his meeting with a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The move comes as part of the State’s efforts on laying the foundations for comprehensive and sustainable development in accordance with Egypt’s Vision 2030, he said.

During the meeting, the minister also lauded the cooperation between Egypt and Japan, which is considered as part of the development partners.

Egypt is keen on benefiting from Japan’s experiment in the human development sphere, added the minister.

The minister, meanwhile, said that the government exerts utmost efforts to maintain the quality of public service through enhancing the effectiveness of governance system.

The government is keen on benefiting from the financial and technical assistance offered by the JICA, especially in joint cooperation in fields of health, education and culture, he added.

Maait also said that the government attaches prior importance to boosting inbound tourism from Japan to Egypt.

A delegation from JICA, led by Chief Representative of JICA Egypt Office Yoshifumi Omura, said that Japan is keen on promoting development with Egypt, with special focus on supporting human development efforts in spheres of health, education and culture.

JICA stands fully ready to provide the necessary support to the comprehensive health insurance system in Egypt, added the delegation.
