Caretaker Minister of Industry, Hussein Hajj Hassan, held talks with Syrian Prime Minister Imad Khamis, over the Lebanese-Syrian bilateral relations on various levels.
Speaking to reporters following the meeting, Hajj Hassan indicated that his visit to Syria aimed to dwell on the means to develop ties in the fields of trade, energy, and reconstruction, as well as to discuss the Syrian refugees' return to their homeland.
"The majority of the Lebanese people are now convinced of the necessity to bolster ties with the Syrian state; the rest will the change their position if they really want the best for Lebanon," he said.
"This visit is not a challenge to anybody," he underlined.
"There are several common dossiers between Lebanese and Syria that require strong relations and not the opposite," he concluded.
