Prime Minister Saad Hariri on Tuesday maintained that the Lebanese military would conduct a "calculated" operation on the outskirts of Arsal, adding that there is no coordination whatsoever with the Syrian army.
"The Lebanese army will carry out a calculated operation on the outskirts of Arsal, and the government gives it full freedom," Hariri said during a legislative session at the Parliament.
"There is no coordination between the Lebanese and Syrian armies," he underlined.
For his part, MP Khaled Daher demanded the dismissal of Defense Minister Yaacoub Sarraf against the background of the situation in Arsal.
In turn, MPs Antoine Zahra and Sami Gemayel asked for clarifications over Arsal events.
"There are armed groups belonging to Lebanese parties that are saying that will lead a battle; we demand clarifications," Gemayel said.
