HARIRI MEETS WITH FAMILIES OF ISLAMIST DETAINEES

The President of the Council of Ministers Saad Hariri met with the families of the Islamist detainees at Al-Khair Mosque in Minieh and listened to their demands to accelerate the determination of the fate of their children.

Hariri said: "I know your suffering and feel your pain. I pledged to accelerate the pace to adopt an amnesty law for everyone who deserves amnesty and I will not back away from this promise. "

He added: "We all know that there is injustice in Syria against the Syrian people, we reject it and empathize with the oppressed. However, everyone should be careful not to join the extremists under the pretext of supporting the Syrian brothers, or to hide behind religious slogans for irresponsible objectives."

Hariri said: "Responsibility imposes on me to speak honestly with you and alert the youth of the dangers. Every citizen is also responsible of warning them against the dangers of joining extremist groups that hide behind Islam".

He continued: "Islam is a religion of moderation and tolerance, and does not order anyone to do harm. I feel your suffering and my responsibility is to help you. I have taken the issue of the amnesty law on me and hopefully we can do this in cooperation with the President of the Republic. We will do the impossible to achieve this within the limits imposed by law."
