Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri thanked the judiciary, the Internal Security Forces and all the security and military forces that contributed in uncovering the circumstances of the bombings of al-Taqwa and al-Salam Mosques in Tripoli in 2013. He promised the people of Tripoli that he would exert all efforts to bring the culprits to justice and make sure they get the just punishment.
Hariri said on Twitter: "On the occasion of the publication of the indictment concerning al-Taqwa and al-Salam Mosques bombings, I thank the judiciary, the Internal Security Forces, the Information Branch and all the other security and military forces that contributed to this moment. The indictment clearly names the two officers in the intelligence of the Syrian regime Mohammed Ali Ali (Palestine Branch) and Nasser Jobein (Political Security Directorate), thus pointing a direct accusation at the Syrian regime, its intelligence and apparatus."
He added: "We said since the first moment that we will bring to justice the criminals who committed this terrorist crime and will avenge through justice the souls of our martyrs and the wounds of the innocent victims. We are finally at the moment of truth, when the judiciary issued arrest warrants against officers and security members of the Assad regime intelligence apparatus who thought that no one would ever uncover them".
He said: And as we promised our people in Tripoli, we will follow up till the end our efforts so the culprits are arrested and given just punishment, from the lowest ranks of killers to the top of the criminal regime."
He concluded: "May God have mercy on the souls of the martyrs of the terrorist attack, heal the injured and protect Tripoli and all of Lebanon from the evils of the murderous terrorist criminals."
