Harvesting Cotton crop continues in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor, SANA-  Deir- Ezzor farmers continue harvesting cotton crop for the current season, which began a few days ago, with large expectations to have promising production for this year.

 

“Farmers started harvesting cotton few days ago in all areas of the province “, Director of Deir Ezzor Agriculture unit, Fouad Abdoun said in a statement to SANA, adding that the total area cultivated with cotton in the province amounts to 4950 hectares.

Abdoun pointed out that the productivity estimation of one hectare of cotton reaches at about 2 tons.

 

In turn, Head of Farmers’ Federation in Deir Ezzor, Khzan al-Sahow, affirmed the continuous process of harvesting cotton for the current season, asserting that cotton is considered as an important strategic crop which returned to the front of the agricultural process in Deir Ezzor.
