Hasaka, SANA- Hasaka Governor Louai Sayouh discussed on Monday with the Regional Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Adele Khader and the accompanying delegation increasing the support provided to Hasaka province, including education, health and water sectors.
During the meeting ,Sayouh pointed out suffering of the province due to QSD militia’s attacks on the schools as nearly 100 thousand students outside the schools, so it is necessary to increase support for government efforts in the educational sector to attract the largest possible number of students by renting alternative places for the seized schools by QSD and increasing prefabricated classrooms.
He added “Hasaka is still under a humanitarian catastrophe as the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries continue to cut off drinking water in the province depriving one million citizens from water for the 72 days in a row.”
Regarding the medical field, Sayouh stressed the need to continue supporting vaccination campaigns.
In turn, Khader indicated that the delegation was briefed on Hasaka ‘s suffering in water and educations sectors, adding that the UNICEF will absorb as many children as possible in the schools.
