As a hot air mass settles over Jordan, temperatures are on the rise and sweltering heat is predicted to grip the Kingdom. The majority of regions will experience hot weather, with some areas, including the Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba, expected to see scorching temperatures, forecasters said.
In its daily report, the Jordan Meteorological Department JMD issued a warning against direct exposure to sunlight during peak hours in most areas, as well as leaving children inside closed cars. Additionally, it advised against lighting fires in grassy and forested areas to prevent wildfires, and storing sanitizers, perfumes, and flammable materials inside vehicles.
On Monday, the impact of the sizzling heat will persist and similar scorching conditions will remain until Wednesday with northwesterly moderate winds, occasionally picking up. The weather department urged citizens to take extra precautions to avoid heat- related risks and to stay indoors during peak hours in addition to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
Today’s maximum temperatures will be between 33 and 38 degrees Celsius in Amman and various highlands across the Kingdom, with lows of 23 or even 19 degrees in the southern highlands at night. The Gulf city of Aqaba will experience sweltering weather, with highs of 42C and lows of 29C.
