Highway actress Alia Bhatt took to her Twitter page on Saturday to set the record straight that all Facebook pages in her name are “fake”.
“I do not have a Facebook page! All pages being handled are fake. Please do not follow,” Bhatt posted on Saturday.
Her step sister Pooja Bhatt also tweeted about Bhatt’s fake accounts. “Someone running Alia’s FAKE ‘verified page’ quotes her as thanking a N.K. Productions Ltd for managing her account. Do the math folks! Oh and all those subscribing to http://www.facebook.com/AliaBhatt, prepare to be shattered. It’s FAKE! All these cons on Facebook should be dealt with,” added Pooja, who is filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter with Kiran Bhatt (original name Lorraine Bright).
Bhatt is Mahesh’s daughter with Soni Razdan.
Following Pooja’s post, the Facebook link was made unavailable. However, another account in Bhatt’s name is doing the rounds.
Earlier in the day, actress-filmmaker Pooja slammed a man named Rajeev Malhotra for masquerading as her casting agent and misleading young acting aspirants via a Facebook account.
“A young lady and Bollywood hopeful arrived at my house at 5.30am saying a certain Rajeev Malhotra, who claims to be my casting agent, sent her. She went on to insist she also ‘spoke to me’ on FB [Facebook] and I confirmed the same.
“This is dangerous as obviously someone is masquerading as me on FB,” Pooja tweeted.
She added: “No agent or co-ordinator represents me. This man claiming to be ‘Rajeev Malhotra — 9667882304’ is attempting to use my name and mislead young women.”
“More than 50 per cent of the co-ordinators out there have no access to people who actually launch stars. They lie to young aspirants and exploit them. It concerns me that innocents, with stars in their eyes will be taken advantage of by sharks who scour the shallow waters of fame for a kill,” added the filmmaker, who has directed movies such as Paap and Jism.
For those who wish to work with her, Pooja can be contacted directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
