India court commutes death sentence for Rajiv Gandhi killers

NEW DELHI: India’s Supreme Court has commuted the death sentences of three men convicted of the 1991 assassination of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Chief Justice P. Sathasivam spared the three Tamil separatists from the gallows, citing government delays in handling their case.
