Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the historic visit of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to his country for participating as the chief guest in the celebrations of India’s Republic Day on 26 January.

On his Twitter account, the Indian premier said: “A special welcome to India, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. Your historic visit to India as the chief guest of our Republic Day celebrations is a matter of immense happiness for all Indians. I look forward to our discussions tomorrow”.
