Egypt’s Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfiq on Sunday discussed with his Sudanese counterpart Anan Hamed Mohammed and his accompanying delegation vistas of cooperation between the interior ministries in the two countries and ways of fostering them as well as security files of mutual interest.
During the meeting, the Sudanese minister commended efforts exerted by the Interior Ministry in Egypt to maintain national security.
He said his visit to Egypt reflects the deeply-rooted and profound bilateral relations and joint constant coordination.
Mohamed said Sudan is very much interested in sharing experiences with the Egyptian security authorities and looks forward to enhancing channels of communication and mechanisms for information exchange, in the light of security challenges posed by current political and security conditions in several countries in the region.
In turn, Tawfiq underlined the importance of rallying efforts to curb all negative phenomena in the society and fight terrorism and organized crime.
