Iran calls for respecting Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity

New York, Iran’s permanent representative to the UN, Majid Takht Ravanchi, called for respecting Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and non-intervention in its affairs, denouncing the illegitimate presence of foreign occupation forces and separatist and terrorist organizations in parts of Syrian territory.

During UN security council meeting on Friday, Ravanchi said that the unstable situation in Syria is resulted by the aggressive practices of the Israeli entity and the illegitimate presence of some foreign forces, separatist organizations and terrorist groups in parts of the Syrian territory, warning of the repercussions of this situation on security and stability in the region and international peace and security.

The Iranian representative stressed the need to resolve the crisis in Syria peacefully and in accordance with the principles of international laws, calling for the necessity of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries.
