BEIRUT, Lebanon, Visiting Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, voiced, on Saturday, his country's intention to boost bilateral ties between the two countries, stressing the need to find a political solution for the Syrian crisis.
Bouroujerdi, who met with Lebanon's President, Michel Aoun, at the Baada Palace, as the head of an Iranian delegation, discussed the regional situation -- particularly the crisis in Syria -- and efforts to reach a political solution to the neighbouring conflict based, in dialogue.
The Iranian official expressed hope that the Syrian peace talks in the Kazakh capital, Astana, later this month, would yield the desired political solution, according to the National News Agency (NNA).
Aoun said, he also hoped for a political solution, which would help end Lebanon's refugee crisis.
Boroujerdi met later with Speaker, Nabih Berri, and Prime Minister, Saad Hariri.
