TEHRAN,- Iran remains to be supportive of the territorial integrity of Iraq and Syria, says Alaeddin Boroujerdi Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Policy and National Security of Iran's parliament.
Boroujerdi, during his meeting on Monday with Claude Bartolone, President of France's National Assembly, rejected any idea about border changes in Iraq and Syria.
'To guarantee the Syrian and Iraqi territorial integrity and rooting out terrorism, the Islamic Republic will continue its cooperation with the two nations,' he said.
The Iranian member of parliament who is in Paris at the official invitation of the French National Assembly, also said that the Syrian people themselves should decide their future.
'No country is allowed to impose its policies and views on the Syrian people,' Boroujerdi said.
Continuation of the crisis in the region is going to promote terrorism, he said.
The President of France's National Assembly, on his part, emphasized on Iran's key role in the region.
Promoting cooperation with Iran as a powerful regional country, especially in addressing problems in Syria, Iraq and Lebanon, is very important, Claude Bartolone said.
'Paris has always urged finding a political solution to the crises in the region,' he said.
'Iran as an influential country could play a significant role in addressing regional issues,' he added.
