TEHRAN, Iran, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), announced Saturday, that, Iran will keep its military advisory presence in Syria, as long as the Syrian government demands it.
The IRGC spokesman, Ramezan Sharif, said, Tehran has been supporting Damascus, in accordance with international regulations, since the beginning of the crisis in the country.
The legitimate Syrian government has called for Iran's military advisory presence in the country, he said, adding that, Iran has made efforts to share its "useful" experience with the Syrian army and people, to help them defend their country.
Resistance of the Syrian people and government, has foiled a plot hatched by Israel and its allies, aimed at dividing the Arab country, to create a safety margin for Israel, he told Press TV.
"Four or five years after the beginning of the crisis in Syria, they (Israel and its allies) found out that, they had failed to overthrow the Arab country's government, and they are facing a professional Syrian army," the IRGC commander said.
He stressed that, the outcome of the Syrian war marked a "big loss" for Israel.
Iran has emerged as the main regional ally to the Syrian government, since the beginning of the civil war in Syria, in 2011.
