A large Israeli army force today raided Aqbat Jabr refugee camp in the West Bank city of Jericho and surrounded a building it claims activists responsible for an attack outside Jericho were in the building as reports said three were injured by the army gunfire, one of them critically.

Medics said a young man was shot by live ammunition in the abdomen and was critically wounded. Medics tried to resuscitate him and provide him with treatment, but the Israeli occupation soldiers arrested him, said the medics.

The Israeli occupation forces also arrested a number of people in the besieged building as they sealed off the camp and prevented ambulances and journalists from entering it while using a man and his child as a human shield.

The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society said the army detained six people during its assault on Aqbat Jabr refugee camp, including four siblings from the Shloon family, ranging in age between 55 and 39 years of age, the 24-year-old son of one of the brothers, all former prisoners, and a wounded person identified as Mahmoud Jamal Hamdan.
