Israeli occupation forces demolished two Palestinian-owned shacks today in the village of Az-Za’ayyem, to the east of occupied Jerusalem, displacing their residents, according to local sources.

WAFA correspondent said Israeli bulldozers knocked down two shacks sheltering two Palestinian households with 11 family members in total, the majority of whom are children, under the pretext that the two shacks are built without a permit.

The owners of the two shacks were identified as Odeh Saidi and Hamza Saidi.

Israeli occupation authorities frequently demolish homes of Palestinians in Area C of the West Bank, under full Israeli control, under the pretext of construction without Israeli permission.

Israel’s ultranationalist Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir has pledged he will continue demolishing Palestinian homes even during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, reversing a decades-long Israeli policy of avoiding these demolitions during the holy month.
