An agricultural project was finalized in the village of Qabb Elias, thanks to a donation worth 800 thousand dollars advanced by the Japanese Embassy in Lebanon, in the context of the program for the establishment of social stability by the support of farmers in refugee host societies in Lebanon.
The project was launched in cooperation with the UNDP, the Ministry of Energy and Water, the International Center for Agrarian Research in Dry Areas (ICARDA), the Scientific Research Office (LARI), and the Municipality of Qabb Elias.
Japanese Ambassador, Matahiro Yamaguchi, attended the ceremony, stressing the importance of the project to improve the living conditions of the citizens of the region and boost the role of the agricultural sector in the national economy.
In this context, he confirmed Japan's commitment to consolidating Lebanon's growth and reducing the burden of the Syrian refugee crisis.
