Jordan’s King calls for halting Israeli assault

AMMAN, Jordanian King Abdallah II on Tuesday called for protecting Palestinians and halting Israeli assaults and illegal procedures in Jerusalem and puting an end to the Israeli attack on Gaza.

This came during negotiations King Abdallah II held via video call with the Egyptian President Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi and President of France Emmanuel Macron, during which King the monarch affirmed importance to end continuous Israeli violations which led to such deteriorated circumstances and escalation, the Royal Diwan added in a statement.

Jordan’s king has also called for protecting Palestinians, boosting active international efforts to end the escalation in the Palestinians territories and working to achieve just and comprehensive peace on the base of two independent states.

This solution must meet all the fair and legal rights of the Palestinians, and to allow the establishment of their independent state at the borders of June the 4th of the year 1967, with eastern Jerusalem as its capital.

King Abdullah II also emphasized need for exerting all possible efforts to protect Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, out of Jordan’s tutelage commitment.

Al-Sisi and Macron’s endorsed and supported during the negotiations the vital role Jordan plays in protecting the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, it added.

Meanwhile, King Abdullah the II in a phone call with the German Chancellor Angela Merkel indicated that the catastrophic developments in the Palestinian territories are due to the Israeli nonstop violations against the Palestinian people.

The King added that halting such violence and guaranteeing that it does not take place again requires reaching a solution to the Palestinian cause that leads to fair and comprehensive peace.

King Abdallah the II shed light on the importance of the international community role in stopping Israeli violence, dangerous and continuous assaults.
