Minister of Justice, Salim Jreissati, on Tuesday maintained that Lebanon's best interest lied within the return of the displaced Syrians to their homeland, stressing that there are no complications with the Syrian state in that respect.
"The ultimate interest for Lebanon is the return of the displaced to their country; it is also in the Syrians' best interest. There are no complications with the Syrian state, with whom we have diplomatic ties," Jreissati said following the weekly meeting of the Change and Reform parliamentary bloc.
"There are large safe areas in Syrian and there are no reasons preventing their return," he underlined, warning of the displacement's danger to the Lebanese entity.
On a different note, Jreissati maintained that political coverup for criminals had been lifted nationwide, reminding that President Michel Aoun had met with the senior judges to whom he confirmed that Baabda doors were open to report any political intervention in the course of work of justice.
"As a Minister of Justice, I shall interfere too. And if I receive any information about any political intervention, I shall expose the truth," he vowed.
