Counselor Mohamed Reda Shawkat, head of the judicial committee supervising the Egyptian Judges Club (JCE) elections, has stressed that the voting process was held transparently and was not marred by any violations.
Shawkat, who is a member of the Supreme Judicial Council and the former President of the Cairo Court of Appeal, told MENA that neither violations nor complaints were registered during the whole voting process.
All candidates and voters adhered to the rules regulating the elections, he added.
Counselor Mohamed Abdel-Mohsen was elected president of the Judges Club in the voting process that saw the participation of nearly 3,500 counselors, judges and members of the Public Prosecution.
Counselors Abul Hussein Qayed, Mohamed Sobhi, Hazem Rasmy, Hazem Abo Sedaira and Hamdy Abdul Tawwab were elected board members of the club.
Mohamed Hany, Amr Tantawi, Karim el Zeqred, Ramy Hassan and Mohamed Esam won seats designated for the Public Prosecution.
