The actress says she is doing the dance number in Gabbar for her friend, Shabina Khan, who is the co-producer of the film
Fevicol se, the dance number she performed with Salman Khan in Dabangg 2, was meant to be her career’s last item song, but Kareena Kapoor-Khan decided to break her no-item-song policy for the sake of friendship.
“I did the item song in Gabbar for a friend. I couldn’t say no to Shabina [Khan],” replied Kareena when asked why she changed her decision.
Shabina is the co-producer of Gabbar, which stars Akshay Kumar, Shruti Haasan, Prakash Raja and Sonu Sood.
According to Shabina, the actress was also tempted to do the song because the film’s producer, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, was supervising her look and presentation in it. Kareena is, reportedly, very impressed by what Bhansali achieved with Priyanka Chopra’s item song Ram chahe leela chahe in Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela.
Interestingly, Kareena also made a cameo appearance in Bhansali’s production Rowdy Rathod, which Shabina had co-produced. At that time, the actress was all set to do Bhansali’s directorial venture Ram-leela.
