During a visit to the General Command of the JAF, King Abdullah commended the late King Hussein’s bold decision and the courage of Jordanians, highlighting the occasion as an opportunity to renew determination to move ahead with modernisation and countering challenges.

His Majesty saluted all JAF and security agencies’ personnel, expressing pride in their role in protecting the homeland.

At a meeting attended by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Hneiti, General Intelligence Department Director Maj. Gen. Ahmad Husni, Public Security Directorate Director Maj. Gen. Obaidallah Maaytah, and senior officers, the King said JAF and security agencies have earned Jordanians’ respect and have an integral role in the nation’s progress.

Maj. Gen. Hneiti said the Arabisation of JAF leadership remains connected to the country’s past, present, and future, describing the decision as the beginning of a phase of development and modernisation of the army, in line with national and regional aspirations.

Hneiti gave a briefing on JAF’s development under the leadership of His Majesty, including quality improvements in terms of equipment and training to further advance the army’s capacities and the capabilities of its personnel.
