Social Affairs Minister Richard Kouyoumjian announced on Thursday to the "Radio Orient" that he will present an initiative today at the Council of Ministers pertaining to the Syrian displaced crisis.
"Does the Syrian regime really want them back?" He asked, saying that a procedure is being put in place through committees that have been formed to encourage them to return.
The minister called on the Lebanese state to put pressure on the international community, which must in turn urge the Syrian regime to ensure the safe return factors to the displaced.
Kouyoumjian accused the Syrian regime of not wanting their return, adding that 90% of the displaced really want to return to Syria and that they should not be fined.
