Social Affairs Minister, Richard Kouyoumjian, met Friday with Commissioner of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, accompanied by UNHCR Representative in Lebanon, Mireille Girard.
Talks reportedly touched on the Syrian refugee dossier and its grave impact on Lebanon.
Minister Kouyoumjian highlighted the need for the swift return of the dispalced Syrians to their country, especially that Lebanon can no longer bear the huge impact of displacement.
Kouyoumjian said the Ministry of Social Affairs has shouldered its responsibility in this regard in full.
Kouyoumjian later met with UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy on Disability and Accessibility, Maria Soledad Cisternas Reyes, in the presence of the Check Ambassador to Lebanon, Martha Chalhoub. Talks reportedly touched on the issue of violence against children and women and their rights.
The minister also met with WFP Regional Director Abdulla Wardat with a delegation from the Organization. Talks touched on the Program in support of Underprivileged families funded by the World Bank and WFP.
Kouyoumjian then met with Australian Ambassador to Lebanon, Rebecca Grindley, who came on a courtesy visit.
Talks reportedly touched on the bilateral relations between the two countries.
