Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli on Thursday 27/5/2021 expressed his government’s interest in launching new and renewable energy projects.

In a meeting via videoconference with a delegation of Germany’s Thyssenkrupp in the presence of the company’s CEO Oliver Tietze, the prime minister said the government agreed to go ahead with measures to sign a memo of understanding with Thyssenkrupp to carry out a proposed project for establishing a factory with the aim of exporting green hydrogen and green ammonia to Germany.

Members of the delegation said Thyssenkrupp is a leading company in producing steel in Germany and a giant industrial firm.

Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker, who attended the virtual meeting, said that Egypt possesses potentials enabling it to be a hub for producing and exporting green hydrogen.
