Head of the National Dialogue Party MP Fouad Makhzoumi hailed the position of the United Nations and the European Union on the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.
He said "We are in favor of resolutions 242 and 338 of the Security Council," adding that "these decisions are the reference in the assessment of the situation on the issues pertaining to the Israeli occupation, otherwise chaos will prevail the world, on the one hand, and all the efforts to achieve peace in the region will be dealt a blow (...), on the other hand."
The MP called upon the Arab League "to take a firm stance, as silence over Trump's statements is akin to abandoning Jerusalem."
Makhzoumi stressed that "the reference of the Security Council and the United Nations also applies to the Shebaa farms and the highlands of Kafrshuba and Al-Ghajar," stressing the need to "fortify Lebanon against any attempt to attack its sovereignty by land, sea or air."
