Makram visits Egyptian-German Center for Jobs, Migration in Maadi

Minister of Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs Nabila Makram visited on Friday the Egyptian-German Center for Jobs, Migration and Reintegration in Maadi district as part of the Egyptian-German cooperation in the immigration domain.

Makram was welcomed by German Ambassador to Egypt Cyrill Nunn along with a number of embassy staffers and GIZ Country Director for Egypt Alexander Solyga.

She discussed with the German diplomat the importance of developing bilateral relations, reiterating the ministry’s keenness on offering all possible support for the center that provides information, assistance and personal advice about employment and training opportunities in Egypt.

This service is intended for returnees, as well as for those in Egypt who want to improve their career prospects. The center also advises on the requirements for legal migration.

Sahar Ali, Director of the center, gave a presentation on the achievements made by the center during the first six months of its establishment and the number of those who benefited from it whether in the field of training courses, direct support or psychological support.

She said the center provides them with necessary instructions for immigration to Germany with a focus on the dangers of illegal immigration.

Makram said this is the first of its kind center to be established in Egypt with the aim of promoting legal immigration.

Makram granted the German ambassador an honorary shield in recognition of his efforts in Egypt since assuming post.

The center was inaugurated in November to the public. It focuses on job opportunities in Egypt, Job opportunities in Germany and hazards of illegal immigration.
