Maronite bishops congratulated the Lebanese military institution on the occasion of Army Day, and welcomed the efforts of all forces in the fight against terrorism and border control.
They confirmed at the end of their monthly meeting in Diman under the chairmanship of Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rahi, the need to support these institutions at all levels.
After recalling the internal and external threats, bishops expressed their concern over the political procrastination and the paralysis in the institutions with all its political, economic and social ramifications.
The maronite bishops wished the success of dialogue, saying that "the only solution to this crisis lies in respect for the Constitution and the election of a president."
They stressed the importance of approving a new election law that would represent all Lebanese components.
Tackling the visit of Maronite Patriarch to Qaa, the prelates condemned again the terrorist attack against the village, saluting the courage of the people and the steps taken by the security forces and army elements.
They called on the Lebanese government "to grant the necessary care for this region and to adopt measures capable of protecting the people and preserving their rights."
Regionally, conferees condemned the terrorist attacks and acts of violence in Arab countries, including Syria and Aleppo.
They also denounced the terrorist acts that have been perpetrated recently in Munich, Nice and Rouen, namely, the execution of priest Jacques Hamel, joining their voices with those of the bishops of France in rejecting terrorism in all its forms and urging to fight against this phenomenon by national unity.
