Akkar - State Minister for Displaced Syrians' Affairs, Moueen el-Mere'bi, disclosed on Saturday that "the development workshop in the province of Akkar has begun, under the guidance of Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri," adding that "we are working on a government plan in cooperation with international organizations to deal with the displacement crisis."
Mere'bi's words came during his visit to the Municipality of Halba, where he held a meeting with a number of heads of municipality unions in Akkar.
Mere'bi stressed that he will work on the basis of partial administrative decentralization with areas distant from the capital, so as to fulfill part of these areas' rights and allow them to feel the close support and attention of their government.
He pointed to the "Lebanese government's plan to respond to the crisis of displacement, which includes a series of vital projects, in cooperation with international organizations," adding that "one of the goals is creating job opportunities for the Lebanese, as well as the Syrian refugees, since unemployment is the scourge of society."
