Caretaker State Minister for the Displaced Affairs, Moeen Merhebi, welcomed on Wednesday Danish Ambassador to Lebanon, Merete Juhl, accompanied by the Embassy's regional adviser for forced displacement.
Talks reportedly touched on the subject of the Syrian displacement in Lebanon and the host communities, as well as the "Beirut Declaration" by the Arab Economic Summit on the issue of refugees.
Minister Merhebi hoped that Denmark, along with European countries and the international community, would help in pressing towards eliminating all obstacles standing in the way of the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland, and to protect their return right, as guaranteed by the international legitimacy and treaties.
Merhebi hailed "Beirut Declaration" content concerning emphasis on the promotion of conditions conducive to the return of the displaced persons and refugees to their homeland, in accordance with international legitimacy and respect for the sovereignty of the host countries.
