Damascus, Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, received on Wednesday a military senior delegation from Uruguay, headed by Army Chief of Staff, major general Marcelo Montaner.
During the meeting, Major general Montaner talked about preparations held by government of Uruguay to dispatch a military unit to work within the frame of the UN Disengagement Force in Golan, hailing the great support offered by the Syrian government in this regard.
Mikdad, for his part, said that Syria welcomes the peace-keeping forces from the Uruguayan nationality, affirming the Syrian firm stance represented by offering support to the Disengagement force to carry out their duty and uncover the Israeli violations of the Disinterment agreement through their repeated aggressions on the Syrian territory and their support to the terrorists.
He also affirmed Syria's right to restore the occupied Syrian Golan till June 4th, 1967 line, a right backed by UN Security Council resolution No.242.
