Mikdad discusses with Aleinik bilateral relations, latest developments

Damascus, SANA-Foreign and Expatiates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, discussed on Wednesday with First Deputy of Foreign Minister of Belarus Republic, Sergei Aleinik, the latest political developments on the international arena and a number of issues of cooperation between Syria and Belarus.


Mikdad hailed the visit of the Belarusian high-ranking delegation to Damascus as to push bilateral relations forwards in several domains, particularly in the economic field.

“Syria appreciates the Belarusian aid which contributed to boosting the Syrians’ resilience in the face of unilateral coercive measures imposed on the country, the same as imposed on Belarus and other states,” Mikdad said, reiterating Syria’s support to Belarus against western attempts to intervene in its domestic affairs.

Aleinik, for his part, said that Belarus gives special importance to develop relations with Syria in all domains, renewing his country’s support to Syria in the face of terrorist war imposed on it, and preserving Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He highly appreciated Syria’s stance in support of Belarus against western attempts to destabilize the situation there, stressing his country’s insistence to offer humanitarian aid to Syria.
