Mikdad: Syria keen to offer possible assistance to Lebanon

Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Faysal Mikdad, discussed with his Lebanese counterpart, Abdallah Buo Habib, bilateral relations in all fields.

 

 

 

Minister Mikdad, during a meeting which comes on the sidelines of Syria’s participation in the high-level meeting of Non-Aligned Movement countries, expressed Syria’s keenness on offering the possible assistance to overcome difficulties and challenges to which Lebanon has passed through during the last period.

 

Lebanese Minister, for his part, thanked Syria for the assistance it offers to Lebanon regarding energy resources.

 

The two sides also discussed the return of Syrian refugees to Homeland as Minister Mikdad welcomed the return of all Syrian citizens.

 

He called on international organizations to play their role and assume their duty towards Syrian refugees.

 

Later, Minister Mikdad discussed in a similar meeting with Iranian deputy Foreign Minister, Mehdi Safari, prospects of cooperation between the two brotherly countries in the political and economic fields.

 

The Iranian official expressed his country’s willingness to offer all forms of assistance to Syria, meanwhile Minister Mikdad affirmed the importance of Syrian-Iranian historic relations and the need for boosting them in all fields.
